Join the Rosebud Sioux Tribe Child Care Program for a vital Public Forum where community voices will help shape the 2026–2028 Child Care Plan. This event is open to everyone — parents, providers, staff, and community members — and lunch will be provided.

What Is the Child Care Plan?

The Child Care Plan 2026–2028 outlines how the RST Child Care Program will operate over the next three years. It includes updates and improvements to:

  • Policies and Procedures

  • Parent and Guardian Responsibilities

  • Child Care Provider Roles and Guidelines

  • Staff Expectations and Training

  • Program Improvements and Community Collaboration

This plan ensures that services reflect the values, needs, and voices of the Sicangu Lakota Oyate, and it plays a critical role in securing funding, maintaining quality care, and supporting family wellbeing across the reservation.

What To Expect at the Forum:

At the forum, attendees will:

  • Learn about proposed updates and changes in the child care system

  • Ask questions and provide feedback

  • Review how the program is serving children and families

  • Share concerns and offer suggestions for better services

  • Engage in conversations about cultural relevance, language, and community priorities

  • Help guide how future funds and services are allocated

RST Child Care

The Rosebud Sioux Tribe Child Care Program plays a vital role in supporting families and strengthening the Sicangu Lakota community by increasing access to safe, reliable, and culturally respectful child care. The program helps low-income families afford quality care while promoting the health, development, and education of young children.

Beyond providing financial assistance, RST Child Care ensures that providers are trained, facilities are safe, and Lakota values are reflected in early learning environments. By investing in children, the program empowers families, supports working parents and students, and builds a stronger future for the Oyate.
